It's easy at times
to confuse
living with death.
When the alarm clock
interrupts
the best dream
you've ever had.
When approaching
an earth shattering
orgasmic experience
and the police
break down your door.
When you blow out
the candles on your
birthday cake and take
your first bite and a
rat claws its way
out of the cake.
When you're working
a mundane repetitive job
and every inch of you aches
and screams freedom and you
know it will be the same or
worse for thirty more years.
When your car is
falling from a cliff
and you try to kiss
your partner and the car
bursts into an inferno.
